Manage clusters

A cluster in RisingWave Cloud provides the resources for hosting independent data repositories and streaming pipelines. Within a cluster, you can create and manage database users and databases.

Clusters are listed on the RisingWave Cloud dashboard. From the dashboard, you can create clusters, open a cluster, pause or resume it, restart it, rescale it, upgrade it, and delete it.

Create a cluster

To create a cluster in RisingWave Cloud, follow these steps:

1. Go to the RisingWave Cloud dashboard.
2. Click New cluster.
3. Select the deployment mode, plan, cloud provider, region, and compute resources. For more details, refer to Choose a cluster plan.
4. Review the summary and create the cluster.

Once the cluster is created, it appears on the dashboard. Open it to access its Connect, Data Catalog, SQL Editor, Metrics, Resources, Users, Backup, Maintenance, and Network Access pages.

Connect to a Cluster

After getting a cluster up and running, connect to it with the SQL Editor or your local client.

Check Status and Metrics

You can check and monitor the overall running status and detailed metrics of your clusters.

Update Database Version

When a newer version of RisingWave is available, you can update the database version of your cluster to the latest.

Stop and Delete Clusters

You can manually control the running state of your clusters or delete them.
